Would you like to improve your health? Are you self-conscious about having too much fat on your body? Would you like to be more physically fit, look more slender and attractive, and have more energy?

How badly do you want these things? Enough to make some small, but significant changes in your daily habits and routines?

The first ingredient in your recipe for success is your own desire. Your success will be largely determined by the degree to which you are motivated to change, and the effort you are willing to put forth in achieving your goals.

A positive attitude is also very important. Since you're going to have to work with yourself in order to achieve your goals, be good to yourself! Don't allow yourself to talk-- or even think -- critically or negatively about yourself. (This may take some practice!) When you make mistakes (and everyone does) be kind. Be forgiving. Then get "back on track." Be your own best friend and coach. Give yourself "permission" to be happy right now. Enjoy life today. If you tell yourself, "I will not be happy until I lose weight," then you may finally achieve your goal and find that you are STILL not happy, because you have not made friends with "the person in the mirror." Remember that who you are is not determined by a number on the scale or your dress size.

Another essential ingredient is that you've got to have a plan...a program...a "road map" that will lead you toward your goals. All the desire and positive attitude in the world won't get you anywhere if you're not following a plan that will lead to success.
