You don't need to do crunches or situps to have great abs. And you don't
need to buy an ab-toner, ab-scultpter, or any other ab-gadget! All you
need for great abdominal strength and toning is Oxycise!
With every Oxycise! inhale you will immediately "lift" and TIGHTEN your
abs. Then you will do the 3 sniffs, exhale and 3 puffs. As your
diaphragm pushes down and your lower abdominal muscles lift up, you
essentially cause an internal isotonic exercise. In addition, as you

With summer coming and temperatures getting warmer, it's the perfect
season for cold, refreshing fruit smoothies! All you need is juice,
fruit and your blender to make home-made smoothies that your whole
family will love!
Here's my own favorite smoothie recipe. It's great any time of the day
-- breakfast, lunch, dinner, or as a healthy snack.
1 cup (or more) of fresh-squeezed orange juice (or a combination of
orange and grapefruit)
1/2- 1 banana, frozen and broken into chunks
1/2 - 3/4 cup of frozen berries (blackberries, raspberries, blueberries,
or combination)
100% frozen orange juice, reconstituted, will work fine in place of
fresh-squeezed. Sometimes I add a 1/4-cup of freshly ground flaxseed for
extra fiber and nutrition.
Experiment with different fruits, juices and proportions. By adding more
frozen fruit or banana you can make a thicker smoothie, more like a
sherbet or sorbet.

"I'm still doing my favorite Oxycise! Level 2 every day, Arms and Upper
Body about three days a week, and now have added a walking routine. This
has been fun and adds both resistance and more cardio but the
interesting thing is that I can't do any of these exercises without
automatically doing Oxy breathing! It's such a part of my life that it
just happens when I start to exercise! I'm sure it's adding to the
calorie burn and it's another 15 to 20 minutes of Oxycise! while
walking. I love it! I'm really not losing weight any more but continue
to feel strong and maintain my new weight. It's so much fun to go
shopping and fit into Size 8 and 10 clothes. I did it and everyone else
can too!
"I have written before about the fact that I work all night and 4 AM is
the killer time. I get so tired and nauseous that I usually have to step
outside for a few minutes and eat a package or two of saltines. I call

6 yrs ago I went to Jenny Craig and lost over 80 lbs. Once I got to

"It's nice if you have the time to cut the pineapple into chunks and

Subject: Seeing is believing
I have exercised and dieted all my life, and have always considered
myself quite fit. However, as I approached my 50's I noticed changes in
my shape. I have purchased all kinds of exercise equipment, and usually
end up disappointed. These contraptions also take up space.
When I saw your advertisement in the papers I was skeptical, but being
ever hopeful I decided to buy the Introductory Package. The first thing
I noticed was that my abdominal muscles became firmer and had more
definition. I was amazed since I have been dancing and doing Pilates for
1 hour a day, 3 to 4 times a week. Next I started getting comments from
co-workers that I looked like I had lost weight. My scale did not
indicate a change, but it made me feel more encouraged. I have been
doing the 15 minute program along with my weekly exercises for about a
month now. I finally had the courage to get on the scale again. I have
lost 4 pounds!
The other upside to your program was that I was able to continue to
exercise while traveling on vacation. We ran the CD in my husband's
computer and I did my routine to your counts. We did not have to use up
valuable luggage space for equipment. I would love it if you could put
your programs on a DVD. I'm thrilled and I thank you!
"I wrote a few weeks ago about restarting the program after a lapse of
over a year, but was shy about responding to your inquiry about printing
my letter. It's been over a month now, and the over 50 flab, bag and sag
is going away....I'm back into my size 8, and by summer will be wearing
a bikini in the backyard again. I saw the Oxycise! tapes and book at a
garage sale last weekend, and told the (overweight and out-of-shape)
woman having the sale that she was crazy to sell it. I asked her if she
had ever used the plan, and she admitted that she had 'tried' it for a
few days. I told her that it takes more than a few days, and that it is
the only thing that has consistently worked for me. I was dressed in
shorts and a tank top, and she looked me over and said, ' I changed my
mind about selling it. I'm going to give it another try.' You go for it
girl...... If I can do it after major lung surgery, anybody serious
about getting healthy can find a way to modify the plan and make it

I can't believe it! No, I CAN believe it, because look at all the
Success Stories. I have lost a total of 5 pounds ( I did not have much
to lose; but it feels wonderful) in three weeks of doing one 15 min.
workout a day. I also can fit into my clothes again--comfortably! I have
lost four inches from my waist, and three inches from my hips. My thighs
are getting toned and slimmer. And my arms--just incredible. When I was
using free weights, several years ago, my arms were not this toned and
strong. My wedding is coming up in one month. I think I will now be able
to fit into my dress again. I refused to let my seamstress take it
out...All I can say (believe me I am teary-eyed when I say this) is

Hi Julie and Jill,
Just received your wonderful Oxycise! Newsletter always enjoy them.
You asked anyone to share any tricks for helping not to eat that piece
of pie or cake etc. One trick I have tried and it helps is right after
dinner go and floss and brush your teeth. You then won't want to floss
and brush your teeth again before retiring so you won't eat anything. If
you do want something drink a glass of cool water or hot (no caffeine)
herb tea. It fills you up.

*A* How Deep Breathing Helps Your Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system is a network of lymph nodes, lymph ducts, and lymph
vessels that produce and transport lymph from tissues to the
bloodstream. The lymphatic system is a major component of the body's
immune system. Lymph is a clear-to-white fluid. Lymph contains white
blood cells, especially lymphocytes, which are the cells that attack
bacteria in the blood. The lymphatic system is kind of like the body's
sewage system. Every cell in your body is surrounded by lymph. Most
people know that the body is made up largely of water. Part of the water
resides in the bloodstream, but far more is in the lymphatic system.
Lymph nodes are small, bean-shaped, soft nodules. They are not usually
visible or easily felt. They are located in clusters in various parts of
the body, such as the neck, armpit, and groin. Lymph nodes produce
immune cells (such as lymphocytes, monocytes, and plasma cells). They
also filter the lymph fluid and remove foreign material, such as
bacteria and cancer cells. When bacteria are recognized in the lymph
fluid, the lymph nodes enlarge as they produce additional white blood
cells to help fight infection.
Like the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system is made up of
channels, valves and filters, or nodes. But the lymphatic system has no
pump to move lymph throughout the lymph vessels. Instead, the lymphatic
system depends on muscular movement, simple gravity and BREATHING to
move lymph fluid throughout the body.
Jack Shields, M.D., a lymphologist from Santa Barbara, California,
conducted a study on the effects of breathing on the lymphatic system.
Using cameras inside the body, he found that deep, diaphragmatic
breathing stimulates the cleansing of the lymph system by creating a
vacuum effect which sucks the lymph through the bloodstream. This
increases the rate of toxic elimination by as much as fifteen times the
normal rate. ("Lymph, lymph glands and homeostasis," _Lymphology_, v25,
n4, Dec. 1992, pp. 147-153.)
Here's how the lymph system works: Blood is pumped from your heart
through your arteries to the thin, porous capillaries. The blood carries
nutrients and oxygen to the capillaries, where they are diffused into
this fluid around the cells called lymph. The cells take nutrients and
oxygen for their health and then excrete toxins, some of which go back
into the capillaries. But dead cells, blood proteins, and other toxic
material must be removed by the lymphatic system.
The body's cells depend on the lymphatic system as the only way to drain
off large toxic materials and excess fluid, which restrict the amount of
oxygen that the cells are able to absorb. The fluid passes through the
lymph nodes, where dead cells and all other poisons except blood
proteins are destroyed and neutralized. If the lymphatic system was
totally shut down for 24 hours, you would die as the result of trapped
blood proteins and excess fluid around the cells.
The lymph collected throughout the body drains into the blood through 2
ducts located at the base of the neck, ultimately ending up in the
thoracic duct. Breathing drives this action. If you take a deep breath
and exhale deeply, you're massaging the thoracic duct upward into the
neck so that the fluid flows abundantly. This duct empties the lymph
into the veins, where it becomes part of the blood plasma. From there,
the lymph returns to the liver for metabolization, and finally to the
kidneys for filtering.
Twice as much lymph as blood is present in our bodies, and we have twice
as many lymph vessels as blood vessels. One of the keys to health is to
keep your lymphatic system open and flowing freely. The lymphatic system
is just as essential to your body as the bloodstream!

Don't Skip Breakfast to Cut Calories
When it comes to cutting calories, breakfast is often the first thing to
go.
But new research suggests that people who are successful at losing
weight - and, more importantly, keeping it off - eat breakfast every
day.
Researchers from the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of
Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver analyzed data on nearly 3,000
people who had lost, on average, 70 pounds and kept it off for a year or
more. Study subjects were enrolled in the National Weight Control
Registry, which is an ongoing study of adults who have successfully lost
30 pounds or more. Only four percent said they never eat breakfast every
day.
It is not known what subjects ate for breakfast (although the study was
funded by cereal giant General Mills), but most followed a
high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet. Researchers speculate that eating
breakfast helps people manage both their hunger and food intake
throughout the day.

OXYGEN and ADHD
"Hello! Not sure if you know this or not -- but not getting enough
oxygen to the BRAIN is one of the main reasons behind attention deficit/
hyperactive disorder (ADHD) & their related behaviors. Sometimes, less
oxygen gets to the brain when someone is sleeping/horizontal (due to
allergies, partially blocked air passages, etc.).
"So... increasing someone's oxygen intake -- especially first thing in
the AM -- can alleviate almost all of the symptoms of ADHD during the
day.
