Today is election day for all of our Oxyfriends in the USA, so we
encourage you to take advantage of the privilege to vote.
Every single day is kind of an "election day" for all of us. Every day
we make decisions that will determine our actions, and thus our entire
future. Deciding to set aside just 15 or 20 minutes a day for Oxycise!
will make a positive difference in your life!
Yesterday as I pulled into the drive-up lane of our bank, there were 5
or 6 cars ahead of me in line. And there were an equal number of cars in
all the other drive-up lanes. Apparently everybody had waited for their
lunch hour (just like me) to take care of their financial business! I
knew I had some unscheduled waiting time ahead of me. But instead of
just sitting there in my car I decided to make use of my time and do
some Oxycise! reps. It was a great way to turn waiting time into
calorie-burning time and deep breathing is one of the best stress
relievers there is!
We hope you are scheduling time for Oxycise! every day -- preferably
first thing in the morning so you can cross it off your "to do" list.
But if your life is crazy like mine is, you may have to occasionally opt
for an "on the go" commuter routine, or try to get in extra reps here
and there throughout the day.
Whatever you do, don't abandon Oxycise! altogether because you "don't
have time." Just figure out a way to work it into your schedule. "If
there's a will, there's a way." If you are at a desk most of the day,
find ways to breathe deeply and stretch your muscles. It will help you
get through the day with more energy, less stress, and will help you
tone your "sitting muscles"! If you are disabled or recovering from
injury, modify the body positions to meet your needs or combine Oxycise!
breathing with your physical therapy or other movements recommended by
your doctor. If you are a busy Mom, do Oxycise! while your baby naps, or
do a workout along with your kids -- teach them the value of exercise by
participating with them. You can even do Oxycise! while walking or
lifting weights, or stair-climbing or cycling...or while vacuuming,
dusting, or driving...you name it! There are many different ways to make
Oxycise! work in your life.
We hope that all of you are "casting your vote" for Oxycise! every day.

"My 15-year-old daughter and I have been "Oxycising" together for only a
month, but already we are both experiencing benefits, some of which we
did not expect!
"And because of my own knee and lower back limitations, we have been
using the "Easy Does It" videos, too!
"My daughter was already within a fairly healthy weight for her age and
height, but Oxycise! has trimmed and toned her arms, legs and hips to
the extent that she has noticed a pleasing difference in how she looks
and feels. And others have even commented about her "narrowing" hips!
"BOTH of us are excited about the DISAPPEARING CELLULITE!
"I have just turned 50 and, being pre-menopausal, have experienced a
slight weight gain putting me in the "overweight" category. I need to
lose about 15 pounds to put me where I really need to comfortably be.
After only the first week of "Oxycise!", I lost 5 pounds! Someone even
asked me if I was losing weight. By the second week, my upper inner
thighs no longer chafed and rubbed when I walk. And I have been able to
train myself to involuntarily switch from being a "chest" breather to
breathing "diaphragmatically".
"But the most SIGNIFICANT improvement of all, I must say, has been to my
skeletal posture. I have endured the physical affects of scoliosis for
over 30 years. Because of the scoliosis, I have lived with various
abnormalities in my posture and skeletal "shape": My spine alignment has
been in the shape of a "question mark" (causing the upper right side of
my back to frequently tense and "hump" up), my right wing bone has
protruded almost at a right angle from my back shoulder [and] is higher
than the other, my rib cage has been distended (like a lamp shade or
bell) and distorted/shoved to one side, and one leg is 2-3" shorter than
the other.
"While I haven't noted a significant difference in the length of my leg
or the position of my right wing bone -- YET -- my daughter and I have
noticed a significant difference in the shape and size of my RIB CAGE!
The "belling" and distention of my rib cage has significantly REDUCED!
Though I never measured the girth of my rib cage at its widest point, it
is noticeably narrower, that is, NOT as distended and distorted as
before! My upper back doesn't tense up as much as it used to, and my
daughter says my spine looks straight! Even my lower back does not tense
up as much as it used to!
"All with the LEVEL 1 "EASY DOES IT" video (with only slight
modifications to a couple of the exercises).
"I will be sending you a photo of myself and my daughter taken in
October of 2003, about 6-8 months before I even heard about "Oxycise!"
from a friend of mine. I may want to wait until my 3rd month with the
program before sending you an "after" photo, as I would want you to see,
if possible, some fairly noticeable differences.
"I have talked to my friends about the benefits my daughter and I have
experienced this past month. In particular, I have mentioned the "Easy
Does It" program to a 65-year-old friend who suffers from high blood
pressure, diabetes, osteoarthritis, damaged knees and lung damage from
severe cases of pneumonia."

"Hi Jill and Julie,
Here is our update as of October 29, 2004. My mom and I started Oxycise!
back in April of 2003 and by December of 2003 we both had lost 15 pounds
and I'm not sure how many inches which I reported to you earlier this
year, however, in 2004 we have basically maintained our weight. Haven't
lost pounds, but have lost some inches.
"Where we found that we excelled was when we went for our physicals.
Both of our reports blood work etc. all came back with good numbers,
blood pressure was within normal ranges. My EKG showed that I had a
heart arrhythmia so doctor wanted me to take a stress test. I got
through that with the breathing skills I have learned from Jill. When
the treadmill test was done, I was ready for it to stop, but think I
went longer than if I hadn't learned how to deep breath correctly. Heart
doctor said all looked good, so I guess I passed the stress test too.
Mom too went for a treadmill test earlier this year and said that she
felt she managed much better this time around with the breathing skills
learned from Jill. Her test came back good too! So we credit Oxycise! to
a lot of the good results, of course we try to eat right too.
"When I got on the treadmill the tech that hooked me up to all the
wiring said, "While walking on the treadmill look straight ahead at the
picture on the wall and pretend I am watching Oprah". I said, "No, I
think I will pretend I am watching my video tape on Oxycise! with my
instructor Jill." She didn't ask what it was, thought maybe she might.
"We will keep on breathing throughout the holidays so that at least we
will maintain our weight as all those goodies are too tempting.

Debbie writes, "Here is a healthy salad that we enjoy"
Pea and Corn Salad
1 can small peas (LeSueur brand) (shiny silver can found in the canned
goods isle)
1 can white shoe peg corn (Green Giant 12oz can ) drain well
Chop fine:
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/3 cup chopped celery
1/3 cup chopped bell pepper
Add:
1 small jar pimento (diced or sliced)
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
salt and pepper to taste (optional)
Combine all ingredients. Fold together well. Let set overnight in
refrigerator.

alarm goes off at 5:30 instead of dragging my butt out of bed after

have helped her:
"I have done Oxycise! since mid March this year about 5 days a week and
my body keeps on looking better each month...I am super pleased with the
way I look right now. I am 30 years old and 5' 6" tall. By the way, I
try to eat only when I am hungry and turn to other sources for comfort
than food and I think that has made a huge difference as well. I hope
this has helped you."
Angie shares this tip:
"The way I learned the exercises quickly was to go through the
introduction where Jill shows how to do them, but I would watch her, get
into the correct position, PAUSE the video and then do the exercise
right on the spot, then go to the next one and so on. It only took me a
couple of days to get all 30 of them down correctly and then I still
needed to go slower than the 15 minutes, so I would use the exercise
LIST that comes with the video and do them at my own pace. After only
about 3 or 4 days, I was able to go straight through the video with Jill
at the 15 minute level."

*A* How to Survive Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, America!
In a few days millions of people will sit down to feast upon roast
turkey (gobble, gobble), pumpkin pie, and all kinds of other
temptations. We know that you are trying you try to eat healthy MOST of
the time (right?) and we hope that you are usually avoiding foods with
added sugar, excess fats, etc. But now and then a holiday comes along
and most of us give in to temptation. The important thing to remember is
that life does go on after the feast. Go ahead and enjoy the holiday.
But consider using some of these tips to help you stay in control:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eat a decent breakfast and lunch. Don't starve yourself until the big
meal arrives.
Oxycise! before your feast (and even after!) This will help suppress
your appetite and boost your metabolism.
Drink two or three glasses of water before the feast begins.
Don't overload your plate. Take small portions.
Listen to your body... pause midway through your meal and ask yourself,
"Am I still hungry?"
Eat slowly and enjoy the meal. Savor each bite... pay attention to the
aroma, flavor and texture of each food. Try putting your fork down
between bites.
Reduce your intake by refusing seconds -- remember that you can always
enjoy leftovers the next day.
If you do overeat, forgive yourself. One large meal is not a problem;
many large meals in a row are.
Keep a journal of what you eat. Remember that one pound is equal to
3,500 calories.
Find joy in being with people you love! Give thanks for life and health
-- and every breath!
"Hello Jill,
Your Oxycise! program has helped me so much you would not believe. I had
bursitis along with calcium build-up and spurs in my right shoulder and
would just cry at night with the pain. I could not sleep and could
barely move my arm. It was getting to the point where I would lose my
grip when trying to hold on to something and my hand would shake. Pain
would radiate all the way down my arm. I had resorted to my family
doctor. Of course they gave anti-inflammatories. Then to an orthopedic
surgeon with steroid shots. Two within a year. After an MRI and the
surgeon seeing the bursitis, spurs and calcium build-up and having had
all the steroid shots I could have, there was no other resource but
surgery. I agreed. While waiting about 6 weeks for insurance approval
and then a surgery date I happened to be watching T.V. early one morning
and saw your program. I immediately ordered it. After using it daily, I
noticed my pain was subsiding and I felt better and thought, 'If my arm
is not hurting anymore, why do I need to go in for surgery?' I called
the doctor and cancelled surgery. The benefit of Oxycise! was great. I
did not lose any weight but the health benefits are fantastic. I may
need to just learn the breathing technique a little better and I am
ready for a new level.

"This is my first sharing, but I have been so blessed by what others
have shared I can remain silent no longer! Oxycise! has made a huge
difference in my life for the past two years. In overcoming depression,
weight loss and recovering from surgery. Before my surgery Jill sent me
some of your stories about recovery after surgery and that gave me the
courage to do it too. I am 70 and had a Hysterectomy 6 weeks ago. I
began using my Oxy breathing in the hospital and in one week started the
movements of [Level] #1 that I felt comfortable with and was surprised
at how rapidly I was adding to them until I was using them all. At my
four week check up my Dr. told me I was more advanced in my recovery
than most of his patients at that stage. I laughed and said that he told
all his patients that, and he told me, no, that he really meant it. I
