God Bless all of you." Cheers, FLORENCE Florence is an amazing lady and it has been a real delight to get to know her better and hear about her Oxycise! progress. Early in August Florence reported that she had just started doing "Easy Does It" Level 2 and said that she had lost an inch from her "front porch!" She also added: "I find the best thing for me is the first thing in the morning, about an hour after breakfast and before I start out the busy day. If by any chance I have appointments then I try to do the Oxycise! at night about an hour after I have supper. It is not a really strenuous exercise program therefore I am not hopping all over the floor. Actually my knees have been better since doing Oxycise! because I have had arthroscopic surgery on them both. I just gave my husband my scale to hide for me so that I do not get on it every day. I am not overweight but for my entire life I have been getting on that scale every day and if I gained a pound or two I went ballistic. I am now going by how my clothes feel on me. Easier said than done though because this AM I automatically stepped to where the scale was and now it is gone. I am trying to eat healthy and stay in the best physical condition I can be for my age which happens to be 80." "One day at a time. I keep busy tap dancing, playing shuffleboard, reading, crocheting, and anything else I can think of. I feel good, everyone says I look good, so I will keep on with the program and hopefully in a short time will progress to just Level one... Thank goodness for Oxycise! that I have lost over 2 inches around my tummy. True I also dropped about 5 lbs.
but at 130 I was very uncomfortable strange as that may seem... I have never
weighed that much in my entire life which is probably the reason that I felt
bloated. Oh yes I am somewhere around 5' 5" or 5' 4-l/2". I do not
have osteoporosis and believe it or not when I had the test my bone density was
normal. Unheard of so they tell me, in someone my age. However I have other
problems but I do not dwell on them and am beginning my tap lessons once again
on Sept. 18." WENDYLEE "I've been putting a star on my days that I do my Oxycise! routine! MY thirteen year old daughter commented to me the other day after listening to my laments about my walking routine since Jan '02 and not really seeing any progress after 5 months of walking 5 miles diligently 5, sometimes 6, days a week, and she replied, 'Mom, you know the only time I can really see a difference is when you are doing your OXYCISE!!!' BARBARA "Hi Julie, "I find that the best and ONLY time that works for me, is right away after I jump out of bed and brush my teeth. I won't even allow myself to have a cup of coffee or tea, but I do drink a glass of water before and after Oxy! Water is very important. "The other thing that I believe is very important, is to record measurements and follow weekly to see the changes. That's what I find exciting - watching those measurements go down!! "I look forward to getting back to my previous measurements and losing 5 lbs. as well. With lots of water, nutritious eating and Oxycise!! --- it will happen!!" Thanks for Oxycise!! ANGIE LEE "I have also found that doing Oxycise! everyday is challenging and yet we all know how wonderfully it works. I am 20 years old and not terribly overweight, but as of labor day I was 20 lbs over my maximum ideal weight. I started doing Oxycise! again and one week later I had lost 7 lbs. This time I have found something that has helped me a lot. I like to do Oxycise! first thing in the morning, but let's face it, who wants to get out of bed in the morning even if it is only 15 min. early. After work it seems like once I have any free time (after dinner, cleaning up, etc.) all I want to do is watch TV. So I have started doing Oxycise! while I watch TV. I use the list that came with the kit to make sure I am not missing any steps and I count my breaths on my fingers so that I make sure to do all of them. Now I have no excuse for missing even if my husband (or I) want to finish the late night movie or catch the ten o'clock news. It is nice to see such great changes so fast." Thanks and God Bless
ANN "Dear Jill and Julie, "Today it all paid off with my yearly annual physical. I had lost 17 pounds since this past June plus I was down 23 inches! What really was earth-shattering news was my blood pressure reading. Last year it was 132/76. Not real bad, but not great. Today it was a shocking 104/68! Even when I was in my 20's, I never had a reading like that! The physician and her assistant couldn't believe that all of this was accomplished with only 15 minutes per day! "The Amazing OTHER Benefits of Oxycise!" "I have wanted to write and share with you the blessings I have received from doing Oxycise! I am a single working mother of an energetic 6-year-old and for me energy, more importantly than weight control, has been at the core of my exercising. The ongoing challenge is time, not necessarily willingness or motivation. "All that being said, I want to praise the amazing other benefits of Oxycise! that I don't always hear people talking about. I am a religious user of the commuter routine tape as I am on the road traveling to and from work one hour each way each day. I use it when I am about 15 minutes from my home as a way to transition from Work Woman to Loving Mommy. When I am finished any anger, depression, frustration or concern has dropped from me and my body. It feels like magic. I am happy and enthusiastic and at peace (which is often important driving in rush hour traffic). I not only feel energized but really grateful for all I have and all that is yet before me. In many spiritual traditions the breath is the basis of life and is used as a way of bringing peace into the body and releasing everything that is unlike it, out through the exhale. I believe there is so much more we could be using our bodies for if we tuned them up using the power of our breath. "I used to pay a gentleman $60 a session to do breath and body work with me. I still go when I need a tune up but the benefits I gained from doing the breathwork with him I get from doing Oxycise! AND all in 15 minutes in my car on the way home from work! CORNELIA "I finally decided to write, because I am so pleased with Oxycise! Of course, in saying that, I sound just like everyone else on the board! For me, Oxycise! came as part of an overall commitment to change my health for the better - and to change my relationship with my body. As someone who has always been overweight - what my mother likes to call 'big boned' - I was, admittedly, a bit skeptical. Not just of Oxycise! but of the idea that I could change my body. After numerous failed diet attempts, I felt like weight loss was an impossible dream. Nevertheless, at the end of this last July I made the commitment - and I told everyone about it! Several months later, I know that their support and encouragement has been very important in my success. I mention this because I know that a lot of people fear telling anyone about their decision to lose weight, out of embarrassment. But I think that making it a sharing process is very important! "As of August 1, weighed almost 160 lbs; my waist measured 32", my hips, 42", and each thigh measured 25.5". At first doing Oxycise! every day was a challenge - I could barely do some of the positions! Although my goal was to do the full routine twice a day, I only achieved this 3 out of 5; However, I am pleased to say I did manage to get in at least one full routine every single day. Within a couple of weeks, I started to lose inches - 1/2" there, 1/4" somewhere else. I was pleased, and kept going. After I felt I'd mastered the basic routine, I purchased the Buns and Thighs [workout] - and that made all the difference! "As of today, I am pleased to say that my hips measure 35.5", my waist measures 29.0", and each thigh is down to 22.5"! I am especially pleased with that, since my thighs have always been the most 'stubborn' area of my body. I am down from a size 14, to a size 8! Surprisingly (to me, at least) I haven't lost that much weight - about 12 pounds. I attribute this to the fact that I have gained muscle. I can certainly see the improved muscle tone - and so can my fiance. Although he has always encouraged me to love myself as I am, he has been very supportive in this personal challenge as well. Although skeptical of Oxycise! at first, he joined in with me - calling it a 'good togetherness activity.' "I would also like to add that, although he is an ex-professional athlete, he had trouble with some of the positions! We both agree that the increased flexibility from these routines is amazing. "I am very pleased with this program - and plan on keeping with it! I have about 13 pounds (and who knows how many inches) to go before I reach my goal - and I know that, with Oxycise! I'll get there. My wedding is next May 18; I hope to be at my goal weight for the final fitting of my dress. results: ALICIA "I just started using Oxycise! I admit that I have only used it off & on for about a month. I do the Commuter exercises mostly and I don't do them every day. I have only done the Level 1 exercises a few times. However, I have gone down two pant sizes and one shirt size. I have a lot of weight (in excess of 100 pounds) to lose, but I think I have found the key." Alicia Update: "I have been doing Oxycise for 24 days in a
row and have lost a total of 23-1/2 inches! I am very happy with the program and
I love the support on the Oxycise! website." ANGELA "I just started back to work after maternity leave and I'm still 20 pounds over my ideal weight. With working and having two kids now, and my husband working and going to school, it is extremely hard to find time to go to the gym. My first week back to work, I woke up 15 minutes early and did Oxycise! every morning, right after I made my bed, in my pajamas! I felt great and not tired at all. (I owe some credit to my sweet baby who already sleeps through the night.) The second week, my kids both got a cold and gave it to me and I was worried about deep breathing and if it would get any infection deeper into my lungs. I hit the snooze instead of getting up and I was tired all week (of course, I was sick, too.) It's my third week back to work and I am committed to the program. I KNOW that 15 minutes of O! does more for me than 15 minutes of snooze and it's the only time I have for myself all day. I hope to write back in a few weeks with a success story!" Angela Roberts CORNELIA In response to a number of questions from readers, here are some additional comments from Cornelia (see Sept 10th entry above) "I would be happy to answer any and all questions! "As to the diet, I changed it but not drastically - I still eat all the things I've always loved (like Taco Bell) but I try to eat in moderation. Although, its worth pointing out that, for the first month or so I did Oxycise! I made no changes whatsoever. Strange as this may sound, I actually kind of lost interest in eating so many sugary things, after I'd made the Oxycise! part of my regular lifestyle. "I tried to do Oxycise! at least once a day, 5 times a week - although, on maybe 3 days of those, I did a second routine. "Here's a wedding update - I bought my dress on August 15, and when I went back two weeks later to have a fitting (they wanted to check the length, with my shoes) it turned out - much to everyone's shock - that I'd dropped an entire size! At this point, I was still doing Oxycise! exclusively - so I owe it all to your wonderful program. I'm looking forward to next May, and confident that I can lose the 10 or so pounds I have left before I reach my goal. KAREN "I had gall bladder surgery in 1994. After that I've had trouble with indigestion. I saw a [TV] show once that a guest could detect illness by looking in a person's eyes and mouth. They said, 'If you have a crack on your tongue, you have digestive problems.' So I looked and I had a crack in the middle of my tongue... I suffered with it using Mylanta, Tums, etc. "Then Oxycise! came along. I'm not one to buy into stuff I see on TV, or I never was, I guess I should say. But when I listened to what they were saying it made a lot of sense. I'm also a Medical Assistant so I know the body can do a lot for itself. Well, I bought the first tapes and got started. Much to my surprise in 3 weeks I had lost 6 lbs, but 17.5 inches total body! :-) My energy went through the roof, I had friends telling me I was glowing. One day I was brushing and flossing, after rinsing I just happened to look and guess what? The crack in my tongue was gone! I wasn't having anymore indigestion either. So, there's another benefit, your food will digest better, I think because your metabolism is up and working better! So all the years I suffered with indigestion before 'O!' came along, wow! I'm so thankful for Jill Johnson developing this method I don't know if I can ever thank her enough!" Thanks Jill!
JEAN "I've always enjoyed the newsletter but the article in this latest one, Healthy Habit, spoke directly to me and prompted me to write. I certainly notice the difference when I am not finding the time to Oxycise! I am an RN at a boarding school, working nights, and it takes time to readjust to the schedule every September. I just didn't get to my Oxy routine every day and after a few weeks, I just didn't feel as well. So, now I'm on track and have lost the few pounds that crept back while I wasn't looking and I feel stronger. "Over the past few years, I have used Oxycise pretty regularly and have lost 25 pounds and many inches. The best thing is that I have avoided saggy arms and multiple chins!!! I'm still hoping for a decrease in bust size but perhaps that is just not to be!" Jean, In additional emails, Jean added: "Another interesting note, I was trying on
clothes the other day at a store I use frequently and the sales person that
usually helps me said 'You have lost more weight, how did you do that so
quickly?' I had been in the store a few weeks ago and she said there was a
visible difference, especially in my hips/legs. I've only lost a couple of
pounds but the inches must be changing. Guess I better measure! I, of course
told her the secret and did a breathing demo, right there in the triple
mirror!!! Before the conversation was finished two other customers and another
sales person had the website info. It's fun to spread the word about Oxy!" CHARLES and JACKIE "We would like to compliment you on your exercise program, Oxycise! Charles has been doing the program for 3 weeks and has lost 15 pounds. He lost 2" off his midsection, 1" off his waist, and one-half inch off his thighs. Jackie has been doing the program for 1 week and has lost 3 pounds. She has lost 2 " off her mid-section; 1" off her hips; and 1" off her thighs. "We have done walking and aerobic exercises for years, but have never seen the immediate results that Oxycise! has offered. The results have never been as dramatic either. ROBERT "Hello, "I am a 49 year old male with Systemic Lupus. It struck me when I turned 40. I'll spare you the long story, but it changed my life drastically. In fact, it nearly killed me before the doctors were able to come up with a diagnosis and thus treat the disease. For years I languished under heavy medication, particularly steroids. If you know about steroids you probably know that they have a bloating effect and increase the appetite. And the symptoms of lupus include arthritis so any kind of exercise was pretty much out of the question. Needless to say, I got huge. My bone density decreased. I was terribly fatigued. Cholesterol and blood pressure increased to the point where I had to take extra meds to keep them in check. I was a slave to dozens of pills a day. "I had done some breathwork in the past and was a believer in Yoga. But not an avid practitioner. When I saw an ad for Oxycise!, I thought it made sense and I'd give it a try. After a week or two I noticed a slight drop in weight. After a month, I knew I was on to something. I kept up with it daily and it became such a joy to watch the pounds drop. It was only about 3lbs. a month, but I knew that a slow loss could mean a slow regain if I for some reason would stop. I lost 35 lbs. last year. I look like a different person. My blood pressure plummeted which I consider a direct result of Oxycise! I'm no longer on BP meds. My cholesterol also dropped significantly, whether it had to do with Oxycise! I'm not sure, but the loss of weight probably helped. That plus a newfound conscientiousness about overall health, such as eating better. My energy level has increased. Just doing the Oxycise! is uplifting. I still have lupus and its symptoms, am still on several drugs - there's no cure for that I'm afraid.
