"... I just wanted to add my own new discovery about using Oxycise! while on the road. It has been extremely hot in the northeast for the past week and I have been vacationing in VT. As always, it's great to hit the pool at the end of the day and for the first time it occurred to me to do my Oxy breaths while in the water. I did the standing positions as usual in the shallow end, then swam a few laps and did some of the floor exercises while floating on my back. I found that with some modifications, it was possible to do the wall positions against the edge of the pool. "It makes a big difference if Oxy breathing is done during a long road trip, not only for the added comfort in the car and the extra energy, but because most of us eat differently while on vacation. Eating in restaurants and tasting the local specialties can tighten the shorts quickly. Hey, who can pass up the Ben and Jerry's factory tour when you pass the place everyday?" JM
MICHELLE "I wanted to get these words on paper, and am so grateful for learning that my continuing these exercises will likely help my lower back and sciatica. I've been doing them in the morning and went without Aleve for 2-3 days and didn't realize it until I thought about it. I haven't done it in 3 days (getting ready to start again after this note to you), and I notice that if I don't do the exercises and a couple of extra positions, my pain comes back. I moved recently and could only find my Level 2 Tape, which actually has the hamstring stretching that really helps my back and sciatica pain. What incentive to keep at it, huh? Now for my good news....... "I lost 10-1/2 inches over almost 2 weeks!! And I didn't do the exercises every day, even (probably approx. 10 days out of 14). I've lost and gained with these exercises, but this is the most I've lost at one time. I gained it back because I stopped my O! I will continue this for the rest of my life and this is how I will do it....I do them in the morning, but I also do them in the car, while waiting on hold on the telephone, even a few reps if restaurants. I've determined that I will likely do them more during life events like above when it's time to combat getting a little bored with the routines, and just to keep switching back and forth. You know - - "mixing it up a little". This will keep me on the Oxycise! path!!!! "My butt, hips and legs are tightening before my very eyes and I'm starting to feel like it's just a matter of time before I'm back to my 140 pounds again (I've got 80 to go, but I know it's coming). JOHN "My wife and I have just returned from a two week trip to the Northwest, and the
Canadian Rockies. While on the trip I sometimes had a hard time explaining the
heavy breathing coming from my room, to my fellow travelers, but after I
explained to them they became interested, and wanted to know more about 'Oxycise!'
There were thirty eight seniors in our traveling party. I gave John Whited: "The Lean, and mean Breathing
Machine" [John explained that "Dunlop Disease" is when your belly has done "lopped" over your belt.]
SHIRLEY "I am 16 pounds lighter. My back better supports my walking (A cherished activity of 16 years that I had to almost abandon due to a lower back problem.) My digestive tract is 100% improved--constipation being a thing of the past. At 60 years of age people continually tell me that I have a beautiful complexion. And, I am happy. Each time Jill says, at the end of the Level 1 workout tape: "How you feel?" etc. etc. I smile and say 'Great!' Because I do. I really do feel great. JANE "I had wonderful results. I Oxycised almost every day for 6 months. Of course, I got lazy and quit. I am back and have been Oxycising for two weeks, but this time I have tried something new and it is working great. I rotate the workouts; I started with level one and the next day level 2, then 3 then four, then I started over. I don't know levels 2-4 as well as level one, so it really has kept me from getting bored, which is what usually happens with any exercise routine. I feel great and it is working wonderfully... CONNIE "Hello, I can't tell you pounds or inches lost, but I am living proof that if we keep deep breathing every day or at least 5 days a week, things do change. I have been doing Oxycise! for about a year and a half. When we moved/traveled too, I wasn't doing [it], until I felt so fat and uncomfortable, and bingo as soon as I started it took only a short time for me to get back into the swing of it again... I do believe the fat is coming off. Wheee! You gotta believe and continue no matter what. I feel so great now about my body. This Oxycise! really, really works. Thank you Jill for sharing with us." I just wanted to let you know how using Oxycise! with weights has been. "My husband bought me two wrist and two ankle weights, 2-1/2 pounds each. The type that wrap around (great idea). I did level 1 on Saturday and Sunday using the weights, and have come to the conclusion that this is a TOTALLY NEW BALL GAME. After I was done I could really feel the oxygen coursing through my body...lots of tingling. I feel more sore, too, like I've really worked my muscles harder. Not only that, but I feel soreness in muscles I've never felt before." Donna Cross
LORRAINE Update "I started the Oxycise! during my lunch break at work a few months ago, (we do the first 20 positions that are not on the floor), and I am happy to report I have lost 4" off my hips and 2" each in my bust, waist, arms and thighs. I have had 4 co-workers that have stuck with me and have been regular attendees. Others have come and tried it but did not stick. Of the four that have stuck with it, each one has noticed results. One co-worker was looking to improve energy and relieve neck and back pain and as an added benefit she has lost 2 and a half pounds (without changing anything else in her routine.) Another co-worker was looking to lose weight and to her delight also found that she could breathe better and easier. She said mostly she just feels "well". Others have noticed better posture and increased endurance. One new person just joined us and she said she feels more relaxed. We are all ready for a new routine though. I like the idea of combining the different levels throughout the week. We all have the routine down, but I think some new positions or more intensity will keep us going. What better use of 10 minutes, 5 x's per week!!!" Lorraine Burton NANCY "I bought the Oxycise system two years ago. I have the Oxycise! book, the instruction video, Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 as well as the commuter tape and the 'Fuel for Success' book. I kept with it for about a month and was very pleased with the results. I even told my friend about it and she got the videos as well. We were encouraging each other--until my husband lost his job. With him home it completely interrupted my morning routine. I tried to continue, but it was way too hard competing for the use of the TV and finding uninterrupted time by my self so-- after many false starts I just finally quit. "I'm also in the 'pause' of life and that always adds a few extra pounds. This year I sort of gave up and decided I'd just have to be 'plump.' (very sad face) I even went out and bought a bathing suit which was more like my grandmother's suit! I wasn't pleased that I had to resort to such a garment, but at least I could go swimming and didn't feel too self conscious since most of my rolls were covered up. "Then, about two weeks ago my neighbor was telling me about losing weight on the Weight Watchers plan. She looked great! Yes, I was envious. I even started thinking about maybe joining WW, so I too, could get rid of some unwanted pounds. But, something kept nagging at the back of my mind. I just knew I couldn't do WW. If I did and actually lost weight then when I went off the plan I'd just gain it back plus a bit more like all the other diets before. I knew in my heart I could not diet again. The weight would come back and it always brought a few more friends with it. So what could I do? From somewhere deep in my brain Oxycise! popped up! "With renewed hope I got out the Oxycise! book and read it again. I went to the web site and reread more information. I even reread some of the newsletters, which I still get, BTW! Finally, I made the decision to give Oxycise! another try. But, I knew I needed to have Jill instruct me, and I also needed to find a way to do it without having to rely on the videos all the time. You see, I didn't want to have to compete for the TV since my husband is still home, although he is self-employed now. Also, I needed a way to do this on our camping vacations without a TV. Some people can just do the breaths, but I tend to get lost and forget my place all the time. I guess I just need Jill speaking in my ear! But, I couldn't figure out how to get Jill's instruction without the videos? "A-HA! The commuter tape! I took some of the
positions from the different videos and put together a workout just for me! I
have a basic breath in between each position just like on the commuter tape,
which allows me to really concentrate on the breathing. If I didn't have the
videos and the commuter tape I couldn't have put this together. But now, I use
my head phones with the commuter tape in my walkman. It WORKS! I no longer have
to rely on the TV! But, when I get tired of the positions I've chosen, I just
watch the videos again and chose other positions that suit me. Yreka! I've
finally found the solution for me! Commuting in my bedroom!" Update "I was on a camping vacation for one week with no TV and I used the commuter tape with some positions I had previously figured out which I could do in our tent-trailer and it worked! I'm proud to say that I actually did Oxycise each day on my camping vacation! This is a first for me! I never exercise on vacation! "I'm so happy to finally get this figured out. I truly think I can stick with it now. I've not lost much weight, but I've lost 4 ½ inches in three weeks! I'm not concerned about the weight as much because I know that it will take some time to come off since my poor flabby muscles need lots of firming up. Besides, authentic diamonds take longer to develop than synthetic ones! So, I know it'll take some time before my inside body will be seen on the outside. YEAH! Finally a plan for even me! DANI "Hi, I just wanted to report that I used the Oxycise! driving tape during our recent trip from MD to Nashville. It was a 12 hr trip and I did all the driving; even though my 15 yr old tried his best to get me to let him 'practice his driving!!' We left very early in the AM and by 9 AM I was feeling very sleepy and working just to keep my eyes open. I decided to try the driving tape and was very impressed at how well it worked. By the end of the tape I was wide awake and feeling very alert! Thanks Oxycise! for keeping me awake and alert on a very long car trip!! I've lost 10 3/4 inches since June!! Thanks Oxycise!!" Dani
ARLENE "I started Oxycise! in February after having suffered with numerous ailments including Fibromyalgia. Since February I have lost 21.5 pounds and 19 inches. I have gone from pushing a size 14 to now a trim size 8. I have been and continue to be faithful to completing the routine on a daily basis. Since I am just under 60 years old, I am very pleased with Oxycise! Like many others, I have a treadmill and have had in the past many other pieces of exercise equipment and videos. WENDY "Please pass on to Jill my gratitude for developing this routine. I am 46 and have had arthritis in my left hip most of my life as a result of being born without a hip socket. A rare but not uncommon disease for which only surgery (and often times multiple surgeries) is the solution. Since the age of 9 I have been able to walk on a "shelf" of bone (created after 8 other procedures failed) which acts as the joint. Needless to say, I do not have the full range of motion in that joint. My left knee is also impacted and the arthritis has plagued me off and on since my late twenties. As the pain worsened with exercise I slowly became more sedentary. Thankfully, weight gain has not been a problem because I get an immediate arthritis pain reaction to eating sweets and junk food. But exercise and muscle tone became an issue since nothing I tried could be done without pain. "However, the gentle motions and isotonic nature of the Oxycise! routine has been a real God-send. Also, her manner on the Intro and level 1 tapes is so welcoming and sincere that I have been inspired to try and stay with this routine. I have been doing it on a fairly regular basis. I was slow to carve out time from my mornings at first, but now am doing the level 1 workout daily. I plan to reward myself with the level 2 workout tape in about a month. I am seeing and feeling gradual and definite improvement in my range of motion, muscle tone and overall positive outlook. Weight loss as I said is not a problem. I am 5'4" and 125 lbs. But it is beginning to redistribute itself and my tummy is firming up. Most importantly, my glutes and hamstrings are tightening and this aids my walking and helps support my hip and knee joints. "I would recommend this technique to Chronic Pain Management Clinics if I were you. I am currently beginning such a program at Kaiser in San Francisco but I don't know how to approach them with this. I will probably just suggest it to fellow patients when the opportunity arises. "Anyway, I just wanted to thank you and Jill for developing a gentle, effective way to promote muscle tone and well being. I know that weight loss is the big money maker in this day and age, but a full functioning pain-free life is also valuable." Wendy, |
