Are you expecting a new little someone in your life? Congratulations!
Many women have used Oxycise! during pregnancy to help them stay in shape and avoid gaining too much weight. Oxycise! will help tone and strengthen your muscles in preparation for delivery and will provide lots of extra oxygen for both Mom and baby. We do recommend that you ask your doctor for his or her approval, just to be on the safe side. Everyone has different bodies, and on occasion there are those who have various problems with pregnancy.
If you do not have a history of miscarriages, or other problems of pregnancy (other than gaining too much weight) then you should be fine lifting and tightening your abdominal area. In fact, by doing so, you can develop wonderful support muscles for that area, as well as getting toned and trim. This will help you avoid other possible problems with carrying your baby as you move into the last couple months.
In Level 1 and 2 Holly is about two months pregnant. In Level 3, Lori is about 6 months along. Jill gives some suggestions at the end of the Level 3 workout tape for modifying the body positions as you get farther along in your pregnancy.
The guidelines in Jill's book "Fuel for Success" are great for pregnancy too, if you wish to follow this eating plan.
If you find any body position to be uncomfortable, feel free to modify it or skip it. Always use common sense and wisdom in what you do.
Best Wishes to you and your baby!
The Original OxyMom, Jill Johnson!
"I personally did Oxycise! through my fourth pregnancy -- and I stayed in great shape, had an extremely easy delivery, and even fit back into my jeans within days after the birth."
Lori gained 50 pounds during a difficult pregnancy and went from 140 to 190 lbs. Three months after her baby's birth she still weighed 190 lbs. She began using Oxycise! and has taken off 41pounds.
I asked Lori to send an email listing any other benefits she has noticed...
"Increased energy, less mood swings and moodiness, much more patient with kids and husband," increased self esteem and image, much better flexibility, better performance in other forms of exercise (I do jazzercize now too), easy to do at home with/without kids, doesn't cost anything, and eases PMS symptoms. Whew!! I didn't realize how long the list would be!"
Hi Geri! It's great to hear from you. Congratulations on your successful delivery!
Thank you. :-)
May we share your comments in a future newsletter or web page?
Well, Of course. :-)
We're going to start keeping a file on reports of Oxycise! during Pregnancy. So we'd love to hear more details about your experiences with Oxycise!, if you'd like to share them!
Ok, here you go..............................
Did you do Oxycise! throughout your pregnancy? (If not, when did you begin?)
I don't remember for sure, but I think it was the beginning of my forth month I started it.
Do you feel that Oxycise! helped you stay in better shape during your pregnancy?
OH, YES!!!!
How did this pregnancy compare with others? (you commented to me earlier about having fewer "charley horses" -- is there anything else you would like to mention?)
Oh Boy, I could go on, and on, and on.....Here is how my first pregnancy went...I love to exercise, so I have always found exercising quite fun.. Well, before I knew I was pregnant all of a sudden I could not exercise. I would come home from work and go to sleep.. I also was eating way too much. Not, because I was hungry, but to get some energy. Anyhow, I felt like crud throughout my whole pregnancy...With this last pregnancy I keep up the exercising and always felt really good. Ok, I can't lie. The last 2 weeks were hell, but I will take that over 9-1/2 months of hell anytime. :-) Anyhow, what I would do is Oxycise! once in the morning and Oxycise! once at night. I then would add one other aerobic tape to my routine. I know I really did not need to do anything else, but I had so much energy I wanted to get up and move, move, move.. Also, When I started doing Oxycise! it helped with my eating, because I was not tired all the time. I did not need eat to give myself energy which really helped in the weight gain department. This has nothing to do with physical, but because I felt so good during this pregnancy I was able to keep my house clean. With the last one It was always messy. OH, and the greatest comparing. I weighed less right before I gave birth with this one. Then I did a few months after I gave birth to my first. YEAH!!! I hope all of this is making sense. I am just so excited about the Oxycise! program. Almost forgot one more very important thing for me. During my last pregnancy my legs were rubbing together. I know EWWWWW..... Well, with this one I did not have that problem. I think under the fact I was not tired. Having your legs not rub together is GRRRRRRRRREAT. OH, yes I can't forget another thing. Except for the last 2 weeks. I did not have any back pains. With my first I was always in pain. I have to say though that even though my back did hurt the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy it was not really bad. I still did my Oxycise! and keep up with the house and my 2 year old. OH, and 2 days before I delivered I had went to a July 4th picnic. Well, one of my dads friends goes, "Let me guess when you are due." He had guessed October, but my due date was July 8. You can imagine how happy I was. OK, OK. I have gone on long enough about comparing.
How much weight did you gain? ...Boy or Girl? ...Baby's weight?
I gained 26 pounds. I had a little baby girl, Ashley Brianna Rose, 6 lbs 4 oz
Have you continued to Oxycise! since your delivery?
I did then I quit for a few weeks, because I was trying other program out. But, last week I started again, because I the other programs I was trying were not working for me. Plus I was staring to feel tired all the time again. So, I have been doing O! for a little over a week now, and am starting to feel better again.
Have you been able to reach your goal weight yet? No :-( (Sigh), but my pre-pregnancy jeans are already getting lose. Weight wise I am 1 pound less than I was when I started this last pregnancy. I am 5'3" and I weigh 119. I wish to weigh 110 or be down to a size 6. I am now at a 9. (big hips, but they are getting smaller with Oxycise!) Also, have to add another comment some lady made to me. This was 5 weeks after I gave birth. We took my oldest child, Sierra Autumn to the McDonald's Toyland to play. (Now mind you the most I did for the 5 weeks after delivery was Oxycise!).I was talking to this lady and I told her I had a 5- week-old at home. She said, "You have done really good to get your self back into shape already." You should have seen how happy I was!
Thank you for your time!
You're welcome.. Thank you for reading my comments.
UPDATE
June 5 - "Ashley, my baby, is now 11 months old. I am now at a size 4/6 (I have been that for about awhile now.) My weight goes between 109 to 112."
Hello Ms. Johnson,
My name is Tera Brady, and I just wanted to update you on my results from doing Oxycise! When I shot the infomercial, I was a jean size of 12-14 and dress size 10. I had lost weight before the infomercial, but now I have lost even more. I am now a jean size 10 and dress size 7-8.
My jeans were getting too big and I had to shop for some new ones. I tried on a size 12. As you know, jeans fit differently from brand to brand. They were too big, and I went with the 10!! They fit beautifully, and I was elated.
I am now 145 lbs, down from the 155 I was during the informercial. Your program, in conjunction with a proper diet, is what I have to thank for my success. I am still losing more weight, and the last time I wore a jean size 10, I was a freshman in high school. I am smaller now than I was before I had my first baby!!!!
Thank you so much. When I reach my goal weight, I will send a picture for you.
God Bless,
Tera Brady

"Hello!
I enjoy reading the weekly newsletter that you put out, and I wanted to write and tell you about my own experience with Oxycise. (This is my husband's e-mail account, which he is gracious enough to share with me, so don't be confused when it seems someone named Brian is telling you about giving birth!)
"I have all the Oxycise! videos, which I purchased because I wanted to lose weight and firm up my muscles. I admit I haven't been the most consistent woman in the world as far as doing regular workouts, so I don't have terrific inch-or pound-loss to tell you about; but I DO really love doing Oxycise!, and it always gives me a boost. I know if I really stuck to it I would see great results. Anyway, I did Oxycise! workouts fairly often throughout my pregnancy, and it always felt great!
"But that's not why I'm writing!
"I'm writing because I believe my experience doing Oxycise! helped me ENORMOUSLY during labor and the delivery of my first child, a boy born on April 1. I had a very long labor (about 36 hours), but I was able to spend all except the last hour of it at home. I believe the reason was because I knew how to completely focus on my breathing and to breathe deeply and powerfully. I got through every single one of my contractions without needing pain medication. I think all that oxygen running through my system acted as a natural pain-killer. I'm not saying my labor was pain-free, but it was certainly not the torture-fest I was expecting! By the time I got to the hospital, I was already almost completely dilated. Then I was ready to push, but the nurse told me I had to wait for the doctor. That was the longest 15 minutes of my life! But what did I do? BREATHE! With my husband's constant encouragement to "Breathe, breathe, breathe," I managed to keep myself together--and hold that baby in!--until the doctor came. I pushed through three contractions, and out came my little son, no episiotomy necessary (perhaps another positive side effect of Oxycise!, what with all the extra oxygen making my tissues healthy and all those Kegels that are part of the workout)!
"I'm not saying everyone who 'breathes' or does Oxycise! will have a relatively easy time like I did, but I DO believe my knowledge and practice of focused breathing (like we do in the Oxycise workouts) helped a lot. I'm so grateful for this, and I hope other women will find their experiences to be similar after they've spent time doing Jill's wonderful program."
Sincerely,

Tips from Kimberly
"In addition to the breathing I did during labor, there was one other thing that helped A LOT, and that was the use of an exercise ball--one of those great big balls people use in strength training classes. My Lamaze teacher recommended that all the women in her class get one, so I did, and I was SO GLAD. Sitting on the ball helps open up the pelvis so the baby can move down and get into the proper position for being born. It's also VERY comfortable, and rocking back and forth on the ball in a rhythmic fashion helps keep your breathing even and focused. I recommend that all pregnant women (who aren't scheduled for a C-section) get one. I used a Gymnastik Ball, which I ordered from BodyTrends.com. (Most women use the 65 cm ball, but if you're 5'7 or over, you should get the 75 cm ball--that's the one I got). Oxycise! and that ball were my 'keys to success and a drug-free delivery!'
"I forgot to mention that when I was pregnant, I often made up my OWN Oxycise! workouts, using just the positions from the videos that I felt were best suited for pregnant women. I would turn on the TV or radio and Oxycise! for 15 minutes. Some of the positions I used were "Soaring," "Squat," "Rip and Press," "King Tut," "Crescent Stretch," "Sit and Stretch," "Inner Thigh Stretch," "Basic Tilt," "Butterfly," and "Cat Stretch." There were others I used as well, but those are the ones that come to mind. Some of the positions in the videos are just not real comfortable to do when pregnant--especially the ones done lying on the floor--so I found it beneficial to create my own workout using just the positions that felt good and that used stretches all the pregnancy books recommend."

"I did Oxycise through my pregnancy. I only gained 10 lbs, Of course when I got pregnant I was overweight, so my doctor said that my weight gain was ok. I have lost 22 lbs since having my boy. He weighed 9 lbs 8-1/2 ounces.
"I have a C-section and just went for my 2 week check up and my doctor said I could do oxycise now as long as I stopped when I felt pain. I love the fact that I can "exercise" so soon after surgery. I have had to wait 2 to three months before I could start anything. My doctor said this would help my uterus go back to normal. Cool!!!"

"I am not sure if I am sending this to the right place, I just wanted you to know how well Oxycise! compliments pregnancy and delivery. I started Oxycise! when I was 4-1/2 months pregnant and did at least 15 minutes daily until delivery. One week after my baby was born I was back at my pre-pregnancy weight (I gained 22 pounds total during pregnancy). My baby is almost 2 months old and I started doing Oxycise! again at 4 weeks post-pregnancy. My stomach is completely firm and have a little work to do on my legs.
"As a bonus, I used the Oxycise! breathing during delivery, which by the way was natural. I do have a high tolerance for pain, however the breathing was incredible. The nurses even called in other nurses to witness how well I was doing with the contraction. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks!"

From the Message Room
"I had horrible back pain during and after my first pregnancy, and gained almost 45 pounds. A few months after my son was born I ordered Oxycise! from QVC and did it on and off for about 3 months. I lost all but 10 pounds of the pregnancy weight through Oxycise! and a moderate low-carb plan (the Carbohydrate Addict's Diet, or CAD). Even though I know I would be in much better shape now if I continued Oxycising, I have a HUGE motivation/discipline problem and quit Oxycising after I was able to get back into my size 12's.
I started up again about a month ago when my back pain flared up not even three months into this pregnancy. I'm happy to say that I've only missed two days over the past month, and I sometimes even manage to Oxycise! twice a day.
"...I'm not weighing or measuring since of course I'm supposed to be gaining right now. However, my back pain has all but disappeared, my arms, legs, and backside are toning up, my strength and stamina are increasing, and I have more energy. My Oxycise! goal during this pregnancy is to keep from getting gigantic like last time, keep my back pain away, and improve my strength and attitude to be able to deal with both a toddler and a newborn."

Separate Message from Orena:
"I've only gained 8 pounds so far this pregnancy--I gained at least double that by now with the first one! I'm not having any trouble with positions yet, but I'm only halfway there so the verdict is still out..."
