Some body parts are supposed to be relaxed — especially your abs, on each and every inhale (but don’t forget to lift, tighten and pull IN the rest of the time). If you are having trouble relaxing your abs on each inhale, go ahead and release the muscle-tightening of the body position you are doing, then resume it when you do the Lift. One of the most important things you should do is to take in lots of air — but you won’t be able to do that if your abs are tight.
also relax your facial muscles, jaw and neck. It’s true that the 3 sniffs will automatically help tone your throat and the smile will help tone your facial muscles — but don’t add a lot of extra tension or you may get a headache/neck ache. Be sure not to clench your teeth together when you smile. It’s also a good idea to check your posture and head position from time to time.
Go ahead and tighten those legs, arms, buns, thighs and pecs — but don’t overdo it in the wrong places — or at the wrong time!
