It’s Positive Thinking Day
Positive Thinking Day is a time set aside each year to concentrate on all things positive. A tradition invented in 2003, it’s a day to remember the positive things in our life, smile for them, be kind to ourselves and others, spread happiness, and commemorate the many rewards (such as a healthier body!) that can come from thinking positively.
Self-defeating thoughts may be deeply ingrained over a period of many years. They may include such thoughts as, “I’m selfish”… “I’m not lovable”… “I don’t deserve to be happy”… “I will never be thin”… etc. Such negative beliefs can keep us from achieving the full magnitude of our potential.
Such a warped, internal belief system may stem from experiences in childhood that caused misconceptions about ourselves or negative talk and labels we heard from others as we were growing up. If we believed
what we heard, these beliefs become an integral part of our internal “software,” exerting a powerful influence on everything we do. If we can change our mental “program,” we can change our behavior — and who and what we become!
Try to become aware of your own negative and self-limiting thoughts, then start “re-programming” yourself with a new belief system. Start to dissolve negative beliefs with positive affirmations.
