What I’m going to say though is going through the exercise, looking at it, and how it’s presented- does appear tedious and silly. But do not let appearances deceive you. Put your all into in and the effects are amazing. You will not be disappointed. Many people make the mistake of thinking that exercises should be exciting and that if they are not – they are useless. When they do that – they pass up gems like this video that explains everything and that anyone can do. I’m so lazy I only did the breathing exercises laying down on my bed and yes I do hate exercising.
I’m not a very disciplined person. But for my health, I’m going to try again. Yes I have used oxycise before. And though I didn’t feel (bodywise) the effects was having on my body. It did work. At the end of the first month I lost 4 inches in my waist. I couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t a mistake. I’m very meticulous when it comes to measuring for things like that. I did it 4 times before I started. I was always tire d and runned down and I couldn’t walk over the hills effectively while on my way to work. The older people were passing me by at full speed and I was embarrassed. I bought oxycise and immediately I felt the difference. I was no longer huffing and puffing over those hills, and I could actually run for the bus and get it. I didn’t feel any difference, But the end of the month revealed a lot. That stopped mattering to me when I actually tried it. I used to think that ANY workout would work if you did it, and that’s true to some extent. But with 15 minutes of breathing and stretching you could even do on your lunch break, Oxycise is extremely convenient and surprisingly effective. I’ve lost 75 pounds and plenty of inches with Oxycise, going from size 20 to size 10 fairly quickly and without grief, and have experienced several other health benefits including reduced asthma, more flexiblity, more energy… I could keep going, but in a nutshell I’ve had better success with it than I ever had when I could do “harder” workouts.
I recommend getting to know the “Basic Breath” first since doing it right makes all the difference, by increasing your oxygen intake and working your abs. The director also suggests this in her book (a highly informative read), adding in the positions slowly and moving to the video only when you’ve practiced for a few days.

In January 2003, I weighed 200lbs and started using Oxycise. In 2 weeks, I was down 15″ all over. I continued to use the program and continued to lose inches. I absolutely love Oxycise, after only four weeks of doing the breathing everyday I lost 15 pounds! Within the first two weeks, I had gone done two sizes. After doing Oxycise once a day for six days, I lost two inches from my waist and a half inch from both my neck and arms. I bought the video for my Mom for Christmas, and we’ve enjoyed it. The video may not be the most “professionally” produced, but what does it matter? Once you learn how to do the exercises you don’t even have to watch the people do them! In fact, you don’t have to watch the video at all. You could do them on your own.
Mom and I have not noticed a weight loss, but our abs are more firm and our muscles are being toned. If nothing else, the video is a GREAT relaxer, and it has been a very good investment for us.

I just started the new Level 1 DVD led by Aubrey Lee. I love it! The fact that she’s been doing Oxycise since she was 14 definitely shows – she’s a natural instructor! She sets a fast pace, but it’s just what I need because trying to do the positions on my own from learning them off the VHS tapes years ago was not working. It was taking me half an hour to do what should take only 15 to 18 minutes! Don’t get me wrong, I was seeing some benefits because the breathing technique itself is effective, but this is a whole new ballgame! I would encourage people just starting out to be easy on themselves and don’t give up if they fall behind. If you are only able to do 2 or 3 reps instead of 4 for each position, just kept right on going and soon you’ll be able to keep up. It’s so wonderful to find a workout that I look forward to! Can’t wait for Level 2! I’ll be 40 in a couple of months and with Oxycise, I know my 40’s (and beyond) will be fabulous!

I have been using this system on and off for approx 5 years. It is a little challenging to learn, and that discourages some people. But if you stick with it, it works. For me, the scale doesn’t budge for a while, but inches start coming off almost immediately. Clothes fit much better,cellulite markedly decreases and face definition improves. I have all the tapes, Level 1 – 4, plus the buns and thigh and abs and upper body, because i like the variety. It’s a life saver to be able to fit in exercise when you are pressed for time. I will say the workout take more than 15 minutes, more like 25. But well worth it. Highly recommended

Jill Johnson, via her three-part packet of book, dvd and audio, describes, illustrates and praises a vigorous 15 minutes per day breathing workout. Breathe in deeply and quickly from your diaphragm, inhale three last times, then exhale fast with three final puffs. Repeat four more times. That is the basic exercise. Do it in a total of five different postures and you are done for the day: 15 minutes. Ms Johnson gives many additional postures and stretches, so you will not be bored. At first my wife got dizzy trying this fast, constricted breathing and I myself had a nose bleed. But it doesn’t take long, and you soon have a simple routine that you can vary by sitting, standing or lying down. And for the rest of the day, when you think about your breathing during a boring staff meeting or Red Hats Ladies meeting, just do a slow, steady version of the above (without the final puffs or sucks) and expand your lung capacity beyond the pitiful 20% that most of us upper chest breathers have come to think of as normal. I received my Oxycise videos and book yesterday. After watching both videos and checking out parts of her book, I have to say that her program would benefit anyone. It doesn’t matter what kind of physical shape you are in, how much you weigh, or how old you are. I liked the idea that she does not use models in her video and that she used a home setting. I found it helpful to see how I could use my own furniture while doing some of the various positions. There is no special equipment or clothing to buy. Jill Johnson shows you how to do all of the positions, gives instructions for her diaphragmatic breathing techniques, and backs it up with information on the health benefits. You won’t end up exhausted nor will you suffer from soreness after using the Oxycise Method. It is very gentle and reminds me of yoga which involves endurance and is quite effective.

I did this video every day for 3 weeks and it showed absolutely no results! I think that breathing exercises may work for some, but it definately didn’t work for me. The videos were also mediocre and very boring since you do the same exercises over and over in different positions (standing, sitting, ect.) I don’t recommend this exercise to anyone.
